This easy to use gel mattress pad requires no pumps, electricity or special training to use. Made of 100% Akton viscoelastic polymer, the Action Akton Mattress Overlay is used by hospitals and long term care facilities as a significant component in prevention and treatment of decubitus ulcers. The 5/8 inch layer of AKTON polymer can be used under clients with existing decubitus ulcers and increases bed surface height only 5/8 inch, providing for independent stable transfers. The overlay is also available with a hook and loop hitch that is used to secure one end of the overlay to the head of the bed. The hitch will reduce slippage when the bed is raised.
