The Bariatric Turn Wedge Body Positioner is a uniquely designed, large bed positioning wedge that is lightweight and easy to use. This no-slip wedge provides a reliable turning solution for bariatric patients. The Bariatric Turn Wedge Body Positioner is manufactured of a very firm, high-density fire-retardant polyurethane foam designed to hold the torso in a turned position, while resisting the collapsing forces of a heavier user weight. The patented design of the convex sides creates a roll-like shape that enhances pressure management for bariatric users. Developed using feedback from nurses and wound care specialists, the non-slip wedge addresses concerns that arise when using a lateral positioning device when caring for the bariatric immobile patient. The wedge allows the bariatric user to be laterally positioned in gradual increments up to or over 60 degrees. The ergonomically designed wedge easily supports up to a 600 pound patient with only minimal pressure to the skin. The TurnWedge eliminates the usual struggles encountered when attempting to utilize pillows and blankets or other non-wound care specific body positioners.
